LGF Thematic Areas

Teacher Professional Development

The cornerstone of quality education is skilled and inspired teachers. At LGF, we invest heavily in the professional development of our educators. Through comprehensive training programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities, we strive to enhance their pedagogical skills and subject knowledge.

By fostering peer learning groups such as the Teacher Learning Circles and encouraging reflective practice, we cultivate a culture of excellence. Aligning our initiatives with national and international educational standards, we prepare educators to inspire and support their students effectively, fostering a lifelong love of learning and a commitment to excellence.

To ensure the practical application of these capacity trainings, we incorporate a lesson observation component as a follow-up tool, allowing us to assess and reinforce the implementation of best practices in the classroom. Through this holistic approach, we aim to empower educators to become catalysts for positive change in their classrooms and communities, ultimately enhancing the overall quality of education.

Life Skills and Values

In a world where people often encounter diverse and sometimes conflicting values, rules, and habits, it is crucial to cultivate a strong sense of personal identity and ethical clarity.  We desire to prepare individuals who are protagonists in their lives by cultivating a strong sense of personal identity, critical thinking, problem-solving, wonder, and emotional intelligence.

We emphasize core ethical values such as respect, integrity, and responsibility, so as to develop well-rounded individuals who can navigate various social and cultural contexts with confidence, uphold their beliefs and choices, and contribute meaningfully to society. Our approach integrates life skills and values into the curriculum, provides and prepares teachers to transfer them in the teaching and learning process, engages students in real-world problem-solving and ethical decision-making, and involves families and communities in the educational process.

By fostering these principles, we ensure that education transcends academic achievements, preparing individuals to lead fulfilling lives.

Foundational Learning

We recognize that a grounding in literacy and numeracy is essential for a child’s overall development. Our programs are designed to ensure that every child acquires these critical skills because they are a prerequisite for lifelong learning.

We have implemented context-relevant literacy and numeracy models that incorporate playful methodologies adapted for improved holistic learning outcomes among out-of-school and in-school children. These are the Language Experience Approach and Weekly Foundation Stories and language learner-engaging approaches that promote reading and writing, the Concrete Pictorial and Abstract methodology for numeracy and Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL), a pedagogical approach that helps children quickly gain basic reading and numeracy skills. All these approaches are aimed at nurturing the holistic development of each child, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to excel both academically and personally.

School Culture, Leadership, and Management

A positive school culture and strong leadership are vital components of a successful educational environment. We are dedicated to cultivating a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere within the schools we work with. Through our leadership development programs, we aim to build the capacity of school leaders, enabling them to inspire and support their staff and students. By promoting strong leadership and effective management, we ensure that these schools are guided by a clear vision and a shared commitment to excellence. Our goal is to foster a community where everyone strives to achieve their highest potential.
