Gillian Atuheire

Atuheire, currently serving as the Executive Director of LGF, provides overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the organization’s programs and initiatives. A PhD candidate, she brings extensive expertise in Uganda’s education sector, with a strong focus on curriculum design and pedagogy. An expert in teacher training and professional development, Atuheire has been instrumental in shaping initiatives that support both pre-service and in-service educators. Her leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to elevating educational standards and ensuring equitable access to quality education, especially for marginalized communities.

Fluent in French and English, Mutoni is a seasoned communications professional with over 10 years of hands-on experience. As the Executive Assistant, she is responsible for building strategic partnerships, and leading campaigns aimed at influencing policy and raising awareness. Her skills in stakeholder management ensure that LGF’s voice is clear, consistent, and impactful in driving social change.

John Muhangyi

As Director of Progams, Muhangyi oversees the planning, implementation, and success of LGF’s interventions and ensures that the programs align with the organization’s mission, goals, and vision. With over 15 years of expertise, Muhangyi excels in program development and gender mainstreaming, bringing a wealth of experience in designing and managing large-scale initiatives. Apart from his role as Director of Programs, Muhangyi has successfully facilitated over 100 training sessions for diverse communities across both Francophone and Anglophone countries, demonstrating his versatility and cross-cultural competency.

Emmanuel Adengo

Currently a PhD candidate, Adengo has vast experience in teaching various levels of education and is passionate about curriculum implementation by teachers. He has trained teachers on improving their pedagogical practices under the SESEMAT program, and has carried out various teacher professional development training for teachers of secondary school and vocational training institutions.

Gender Specialist

Christine Bwailisa

As a gender specialist, Bwailisa is responsible for developing and implementing gender-sensitive policies and integrating gender into programs. Bwailisa has over eight years of experience in inclusive programming, addressing sexual and gender-based violence and livelihood strengthening.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a bias in Gender and Development, a postgraduate diploma in Project Planning and Management and she’s currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health.

With a Master’s degree in Education Planning and Curriculum Studies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation and qualifications in Advocacy and Employability Skills Training of Trainers, Nassanga’s role as a Project Manager involves managing the Enhancing Gender Equality project in schools through Critical thinking in the districts of Luwero, Nakaseke, Mpigi, Namisindwa, and Manafwa districts.

As Project Manager, Atukunda leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of life skills training programs, collaborating effectively with stakeholders to tailor these initiatives to specific needs of youth, those in school and those who aren’t. She also takes part in developing and delivering training sessions, covering topics such as self-awareness, menstrual hygiene, among others.

Onzima’s extensive experience spans project management, stakeholder engagement, diplomacy, lobbying, fundraising, public and media relations, corporate communications, customer care, human resource management, and basic financial management. He studeid Development Studies at Master’s and a Bachelor’s level. This diverse skill set, complemented by his dynamic and flexible nature, has enabled him to successfully navigate complex landscapes.

Kamau is currently a Project Officer on the Humanitarian Development and Peace Initiative for Crisis Affected Population in Uganda (DANIDA SP II) in West Nile.Kamau has vast skills and experience in education, planning, management and administration. In this role, he oversees the implementation of education-related interventions, including designing and adapting manuals for green skills, delivering TEDP manuals, and building the capacity of instructors. Kamau ensures these initiatives are executed effectively to meet the project’s goals.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, a Master’s Degree in Demography, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation. Ariapa’s work is distinguished by his keen focus on psychometrics, which involves sophisticated approaches to testing, measurement, and assessment. Ariapa’s skill set is complemented by his passion for refining assessment tools, enhancing the accuracy of educational and programmatic outcomes

As a Project Officer, Kabega has actively participated in the development of Gender Responsive Pedagogy (GRP), Do It Yourself (DIY) manuals for teachers and students, respectively, in addition to designing various assessment tools for instructors and students. As the Eastern region co-ordinator for the Enhancing Gender Equity through Critical Thinking Project, Kabega has worked closely with various stakeholders in Namisindwa and Manafwa districts, both internal and external to ensure successful implementation of the project.

Ahabwe oversees LGF’s overall communication strategy, ensuring cohesive messaging across all platforms and audiences. He is responsible for developing, executing, and managing communication plans that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. A strategic and corporate communication specialist passionate about education, Ahabwe’s ability to craft contextual narratives has not only increased awareness, but also fostered greater engagement with key stakeholders, ultimately enhancing the impact of the organization’s educational initiatives.

Her main strengths are adaptability, dependability, integrity, and the determination to get a job done. As Director of Operations, Agech has exhibited great communication and leadership skills in other roles such as Human Resource Officer, Administrator, and Accountant over the years.
